I wonder how much are the used engines like that running for in the US? Here where I live (Poland), we usually have a huge surplus of used engines for European cars picked out of RHDs or accidents, and seems the go-to approach is to simply get a replacement engine.

I'm not really sure what you guys did expect out of a Duster, but it's a SUV with a starting price of a Volkswagen Polo, that's not pretending to be a Range Rover, just a humble, safe, and quite capable off-roadish car. If You want refinement, there are a lot of other (way more expensive) choices to get.
