So we’re in favor of “““blind casting””” minorities in roles but the moment any insult is lobbed AT THE CHARACTER suddenly it’s time to bring up real world parallels and why that’s Not Okay. Makes sense, very rational.

This piece would be stronger if it included any analysis of the scene from this episode where the character expresses her own feelings about her treatment.

Imagine if Sudeikis does a movie with some hot young actress and ends up leaving Wilde for her. He would be absolutely vilified. We’ve seen it happen before. IMO Wilde is getting an appropriate amount of shade for what went down and there’s nothing wrong with it.

Telling them some places *not* to serve papers is wholly different than directing them where to do it.

As was pretty well established by a variety of much better informed commenters on Jezebel’s two posts regarding that, Sudeikis has zero control over how she was served and what’s more he publicly expressed regret about how that went down (despite having no control over it).

Except it’s already been said that Sudeikis didn’t have knowledge they would do that and there’s no proof either way that he did or did not state they should.
