I mean, sure, vote. Surprisingly (?), voting hasn’t worked too much for us in the past, BUT my state is mailing all ballots in November, which should significantly help getting minorities who may not have the right documentation, or who are routinely turned away from voting for .skfdhj, khsj reason, to actually have

Where are all the comments? Well, it’s a distressing week.

Yessss. Insecure is a FANTASTIC example of a show about black people that’s not necessarily about being black. Yes, blackness is embedded within their spirit, so it comes up in life as it always will for black people. But Issa just gets to live and learn and fuck up, and I love that.

Exactly! There are multiple references to slavery, it’s just not the prime topic of concern. Frankly, I’m glad it’s not. We POC just need a break sometimes, you know? I may get shit for saying it, but I’m tired of slave stories. I’m tired of watching movies like Queen and Slim. I want a movie with a black lead just

Laughed out loud, thanks!

Right, but... Hamilton does address the slave trade. There’s a whole character dedicated to speaking to that. What it doesn’t do is harp on it, which I can see why that might be annoying, but consider that there were a lot of other things going on at the time that are being addressed, and one may expect that those

Gotcha, thanks!

For whatever reason my sound isn’t working, but what is he actually apologizing for? There are people who need to take accountability right now, but I’m not remotely upset that LMM hasn’t said anything about it until now. I AM upset that workplaces are only now realizing they need to react to what’s going on, when

I mean, it’s LITERALLY a black-washed version (all the actors except the king of England are black/hispanic, even in the touring casts), but I hear your point. Idk much about US History, but I didn’t realize the play “washed it down” to any degree, but I’m always interested in learning more if you can point me in the

I’ve been obsessed with the Wade family since I saw Kaavia’s Instagram. I’m obsessed with that shady baby and how cute and shady she is. I hope my future chocolate drop will be the same.

Thank you for your polite response. I thought I was going to be torn apart for saying that.

It wasn’t fair of her to say Asian people only consider themselves POC when it suits them, but I understand where the feeling comes from - black women experience particular forms of racism that you don’t get to lecture them about just because you experience your own.

So proud of this young brother. I don’t listen to a drop of his music, but I don’t need to to see a young black man using the privilege he’s accrued to better himself. Phew, spread it around, Quavo!

Yeah, open floor plans aren’t going anywhere.

Believe it or not, they’re not “still” being to Kyle, sadly, it’s a whole “new” mean. Eyeroll.

I agree that something with Kyle is off. Either the producers have told her to assume LVP’s role as leader and she feels blindsided by all the attacks, or, as I’ve mentioned to some friends, she may be “induced” (ha!) in some way. Notice how she seems to be slightly drunk in every scene?

I wish Kyle would just admit that she and Teddi have a closer relationship than she has with others. WHO CARES? That’s how friendships work!

When I first saw this film I felt strangely about it. I agreed with the criticism that it felt like two disperate entities. That’s how I felt originally. But then I got home. Thought about it some more. And within days my opinion on this film completely changed. It was brutal but beautiful, and it reminds the audience

Let me share something that I have recently discovered: Mandelic Acid.

Dorinda’s husband had money, but I was googling her the other day for shits and giggles, and apparently Dorinda made millions on her own, too.
