You don’t see how this becomes a catch-22? Ultimately, he’s right; on principle, we shouldn’t have to tip. I’d rather my food was more expensive because the servers earn a livable wage than me having to tip to come to that same price. And I say that as someone who is a good tipper and who has also worked for tips.
