Shovel Knight remains one of the best platformers of the last several years. I’m a little biased, as it combined two of my favorite games from my childhood (Mega Man and DuckTales), but goddamn if it isn’t an example of how the retro vibe can be perfectly executed in modern times.

Please Scalebound is a fairly niche title that was more an attempt to get Japanese devs on board, an area MSoft have always suffered in. After fours years of development it makes sense to can a problem project that isn’t moving.

As a Lego fan, I am shocked to hear that a Mega Bloks project fell apart like this.

Platinum has an A team and Z team, most of their “let’s shit this out to make money” is the Z team.

If it’s true, that sucks because despite not looking that good to me (nothing really grabbed me, except the aesthetic) it’s a Platinum game directed by Hideki Kamiya. The guy knows a thing or two about making great games. I had faith it could work out in the end =/
