That’s Studio Deen + what happens when you bring in a new studio in the middle of production on a season anime for you.

We’re going to get into a subjective argument here, but I have a feeling that there are far more “good games” in the FF franchise than there are games that have been made using DB as their playground.
Holy shit guys, I’m not saying there aren’t any good games. And some of you straight up aren’t reading my comment.
This is why I used the word “largely”. As in: it is an uncommon event.

bruh
Also entirely fuck the Demi-Fiend battle from Digital Devil Saga like
This. Asshole. Right. Here. Most unfair and punishing, long-winded fight in a Souls game I’ve ever had the absolute misfortune and fun in playing against.
we cool
Dragon Ball was literally the first anime I watched at the ripe age of 4, living in Puerto Rico circa 1993. I’ve watched it in three different languages and about seven different dubs. I owned the entire Namek/Frieza Saga on VHS.
Super Dragon Ball Z is one of the better games in the series, yeah. Probably the best fighter behind DBFZ.
Agree to disagree—I unironically love both Dragon Ball and a lot of parts of DBZ, and I think the Sonic games get maligned moreso because of people meme-ing the 3D games/fandom/Sonichu to death over anything else.
I liked the Budokai titles, don’t get me wrong. But they were exactly that—low effort, popcorn party game fighters. And the subset of people who enjoy that type of game either grew up with them or want to be competitive Smash players.
Honestly, I think the further we get away from Toriyama’s storytelling in DBZ, the better. DBZ is a great series to remember fondly, but it’s also a series that repeats the same two stories—Tournament Arc and training to beat the bad guy—over and over again ad nauseaum.
This is why TRPGs like EXALTED work, tbh.
You’d think from—the American—fandom, at least, people are tired of Goku and think he’s a sociopath.
Man, remember when Final Bout was categorically one of the best DB games ever?
Which is why I said “These things do not, largely, exist within the DB franchise,”.
I think the major stumbling block is the power scaling, for DBZ. Yeah, Dante and Bayonetta are incredibly powerful characters and OP within the realm of their own universes; but by dint of how strong Goku and Co are, wtf can you possibly populate a game with—in terms of mooks and encounters that aren’t bosses—that…
Also, this is a rich comment coming from someone who named themselves after one of the most tryhard edgelords in all of gaming.
