They’ve apparently been “part” of the EU since before Rebels, but I knew nothing about them up until I started watching the show.

I mean, like I asked: don’t the Inquisitors work for him? He’s the Jedi Hunter par excellance in this time period—and he’s been in what, three games set in this new canon so far? With the previous games that included him using Vader as a huge plot point / character?
The article at least has spoiler tags. The ad is literally unskipplable on YouTube and played frequently all Thanksgiving day across major networks.
Vader being in the game isn’t a surprise, sure, if you know the following:
Why shouldn’t he have been in it? Don’t the Inquisitors work directly for him?
At least on TV you can change the channel; this shitshow of an ad is actually unskippable on YouTube and started showing—iirc—before Thanksgiving week.
The context really doesn’t matter, imo. Nothing in previous advertising for the game, even superficially, had gone as far as to hint that [SPOILER]. The game also hadn’t been out for a month before this new commercial dropped—and it was dropped on YouTube as an unskippable ad before hitting TV—so, like.
Though not directly confirmed, it is heavily implied Laguna’s estranged son is Squall. When Laguna left Winhill, Raine was pregnant, and after her death both the baby and Ellone were taken to Edea’s orphanage, which is where Squall grew up. Kiros remarks Squall resembles his mother and should be grateful he doesn’t…
Wait, this wasn’t just a crazy name for a fake band?!
I fucking hate that some chucklefuck who has never looked at your comment history ungreyed you.
Some of y’all really need to learn the difference between constructive criticism and shitting on something For The E-Clout Stars/Likes/Whatever, jsfc.
Etc, etc.
What a way to completely kill the soul the original artwork had.
You should take threats of violence like this seriously, though, especially if you’re famous—you never really know when one person’s threat is another person’s promise.
@DavyBones
There’s an air of “they seem like they’re trying to get it right THIS TIME you guys,” in my reading of the article, even though much of it admits BioWare/EA have no idea what any of these changes will look like or be—which is fair, ultimately, since this is a fairly early report with what’s going on.
I’ll have to take your word for it, because I despise those games with a passion.
The blowback against FF13 was nowhere near as terrible as Anthem has gotten, nor did project leads and key personnel leave SE in the time between 13 and 14.
This is such a weirdly optimistic article when nothing Bioware or EA have shown in the past year related to Anthem (or other properties)—imo—inspires this level of confidence.
