Which are all valid criticisms, but also make the assumption that this guy + his group are a certain kind of Evangelical when all any of us really know about them is what the article is saying about them.

A lot of gamers /are/ like that and /do/ need to get out and meet other people, if only to get out of their own echo chambers and off the internet to see how the real world works.

The obvious implication is that it’s an uncomfortable subject, and that the piece was more geared toward investigating the use of Discord as a place of worship, and the team behind trying to make that happen.
