With Only Lovers Left Alive and The Grand Budapest Hotel, it was hard for me to pick a scene because I felt that those films were so wonderfully structured that nothing… stood out.
I agree that 2014 has been a bad year in film, for the most part. I'm kind of talking about the climax as a whole, yeah because once Lucy gets into the lab with Morgan Freeman (which is where I consider the climax starting) there's really no break before the credits. I just loved that whole ending, to be honest.
Well if a film has 3 acts (typically, I'm just speaking in general terms) and only one of them is great, and the other two are poor. I split the difference with "deeply mediocre," so yes.
Yeah, The Immigrant actually has a dark comedic edge to a small portion of it. Or at least, that's how I felt.
