Agreed. I test drove one in 2006 to compare it to the Mazda3 Sport GT that I eventually got over the new Civic. The Mazda was easily a better car overall but it was evident to me that the Civic had higher quality and nothing else on the road looked quite like it or especially the interior in early 2006.
