I think asking for an update is definitely something you should do, because if you don't ask then you'll never know. You may show them the incentive they're looking for.

I've been trying to root my HTC Wildfire, which NEVER gets mentioned anywhere in a rooting guide (OK I exaggerate), and unrevoked failed miserably saying my firmware was too new then I saw that HTC had an official place to do it and it worked like a charm :D.

You don't have to spend every possible moment with a friend just because that's what they are. You can lie to your friends because you just don't feel like hanging out with them tonight, it's by no means an implication that they aren't really your friend.

This looks very nice and clean but icon's are definitely more practical and I wouldn't sacrifice that for aesthetics, even a brilliant one like this

I just think people throw the word "objectification" out there too easily. You can think a girl in a poster is hot without being a big bad objectifying creep, it's just something that annoys me.

While I agree that there is a valid point to replacing these things I do not think they are nearly as "gross" or "vile" as you think. With that kind of attitude it's a wonder you manage to walk where others have walked without disinfecting yourself thoroughly. Chances are your immune system is higher for it but yes…
