Get the GTI, then get a Stage 1 upgrade and a better set of tires and you’ve got 90% of the R for <90% of the cash.

Can attest. My daily is a 2015 GTI (first year of the new platform) that is bone stock except for a stage 1 APR upgrade and some better consumables (tires/pads/brake fluid), but even with just that it’s more than enough car for me. I love it and I think I’ll drive it ‘til it dies.

How am I the first to star this suggestion?

David, stop, you have people who love you, stop

Rewatch the video and this time, imagine that the little chirps (don’t know the technical cause/name) while it’s in the air are the car going “WHEEEEEEEE!!!”

“Yes, this rolling office chair is comfortable, but can it do a sub-8 lap around the ‘Ring?”

Good Jalopin’ here, folks. Round of applause for Andrew.

Wait, that’s an ACTUAL pic? Good god...

I like this “Company says vs. Andrew says” thing. It lets me glance through to get the highlights and if one section piques my interest I can read the whole thing. More please, across the whole site!

Rallying looks like a blast and I’d love to get more involved, but all the races are on the east or west coast with the closest to me (Dallas) a 14 hour drive. I’m interested but that’s a huge commitment for something I might or might not pursue.

Any way you could make a couple of them wallpapers I could download? Swear to God I’m not printing (I support artists by actually buying prints), just for wallpaper. If it helps, it would share space with photos of Group B hero cars!

My wife and I have a 2009 Vespa LX150 that we basically stole with low mileage that we ride around town, surface streets only, going to a local restaurant, that kinda thing. We bought it because I rode a scooter in Shanghai for 4 months and had a blast on it.

I always forget about that phrase “darken their door” but love hearing it used. So poetic.

What’s the best way to do a PPI if you’re buying from a dealer, especially one that’s remote enough that you can’t get there yourself? I wouldn’t trust the selling dealer, obviously, so is the onus on you to find a shop nearby and ask the dealer to take the car there for the inspection? Is that a fairly common request?

You’ll have your choice of exactly two model years.

I just starred every single comment in this thread.

That interior has more ugly, sharp edges than a Transformers dildo.

“You need to leave!” she shouted even though I was right in front of her.

Because you’ll need someone to pick you up and follow the tow truck? :) Totally worth it, though.
