I read this yesterday. I was struck by two things. The first is that he’s very, very smart and is trying very hard to explain, reasonably and clearly, why he isn’t a creep. While being super fucking creepy the whole way down. “Oh I was just a creeper level 4, not a creeper level 1!”

That could be taken a number of different ways, depending on how you say it. It could be said in a creepy way or it could be said in a humorous way. Also, intent is not bullshit. Intent is everything.

NDT is, well, a complete jerk in how he speaks and writes. How he treated the statement of drugging someone is pretty close to polite for him.

It’s definitely making it hard to gauge reaction to this because a lot of the accounts aren’t one-and-dones. Makes me think NDT is getting broad support.

As someone who has been falsely accused of something, I can attest to that. I did and said nothing without legal advice or presence. The last place to run your mouth about a serious allegation is social media. 

It’s been less than 48 hours since the accusation was initially made and he’s already posted a lengthy statement addressing it. Get a fucking grip. The guy has a responsibility to his employers, colleagues, etc. to handle this professionally, not just banter about it with dozens or hundreds of random people on…

Given the source of the initial reporting and the nature of the reported allegations (which come across as, at worst, awkward interactions) I’m gonna say it warrants healthy skepticism. Especially since he’s welcoming the investigation.

Twitter is probably not the forum to defend yourself against sexual assault allegations, especially if you’re a public figure of growing fame.

Ignoring people on fucking Twitter isn’t “ducking questions”, it’s simply being an intelligent human being that values their sanity.

This is like a “Mandela Effect” moment for me. I could have sworn this guy was already outed as an inappropriate perv. I am a science nerd, but more physics than astronomy.
