Even the name is like something out of a 1940s romance novel!
Her sister (?) Karen, in purple, is also quite the stunner. Wow!
Is she the one in green? I couldn’t stop looking at her!
Those subtle sparkling bits in her veil are a lovely finishing touch to her whole polished perfect look. She is perfection in this shot!
I know, I can’t believe there are people who look like that in real life, it looks like a movie still.
she does look stunning
I guess when Harry said she was finally getting a family by becoming a royal, he was actually on point.
Catholic mass is boring, but those saints days they do in Spain, Italy, and Mexico are absolutely crazy fun. I’ve been to one in Spain and Italy and it was practically party.
Can’t expect the beneficiaries of colonialism to be radicals demanding it’s destruction. And you can’t really expect everyone who has grown up in a colonial culture and already made compromises with it (which is literally everyone) to throw out the fun, fantastical parts when those those things aren’t being overtly…
Out of curiosity, are you biracial? Because being biracial, to many of us, means your feet are firmly planted in both of your racial identities. She can still identify with blackness while being biracial, and I think that the elements she chose today show that it is a strong part of her identity.
...and of course the CNN reporters were “concerned” by his speech, while the British commenters highly approved. *sigh*
Bruh (or sis?), what haters, though? Mentioning that she doesn’t identify as black, which she has repeatedly said herself, is not hating, nor is not claiming folks as black who don’t claim blackness themselves. She’s biracial—what, exactly, is the problem with identifying her as she identifies herself? It’s funny how…
Pleasantly surprised by the little Black touches. Sad for her to have only one family member there.
Yet the haters that have been up these threads pointing to that one article like “Markle’s not Black!” are going to stay mad and lips puckered. If you don’t have faith in Markle’s Blackness then you don’t have faith in Black mothers. I remain steadfast in my claims...Black culture is carried with Black women.
Loved this wedding! Particularly loved that Meghan was not subsumed by the royals. Her voice was heard, loud and strong.
Windsor is a short brisk walk from Slough (of The Office and “Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!” fame)
Ahhh, Babywise. Controversy-laden sleep training book for several reasons (method aside, one reason is it’s author Gary Ezzo, another is the books that follow it are controlling weird bullshit - there is no way to be “Toddlerwise”, you just endure a toddler until they become not a toddler).
Totally. It’s what I tell all my first time parent clients. Get off the mommy blogs, put the books down, and chill. I also tell them that everyone lies about how well their kid sleeps or how great they feel after birth or blah blah. Everyone lies to each other to protect their ego.
I remember staying up all night watching the news coverage of Princess Diana’s death with Lil Tooty as awake and wide eyed as if I’d breastfed him pure caffeine. I also remember falling asleep while driving and being seriously and scarily out of it from sleep deprivation. I couldn’t even sleep during the day since we…
