That IS discrimination in actual life. It turns down actual Asian actors from finding work. Not to mention that I've heard people say they wouldn't date an Asian guy and cited stereotypes of Asians in the media as reasons why.

You besides how Asian characters get whitewashed in movies (Ghost In The Shell, Dr. Strange)?

Maybe, but I have never heard of someone getting turned down from a job because they are Italian.

No. Maybe they were discriminated against in the 1920's or something but not anymore. Like the Irish or others, they assimilated into whiteness.

Ugh…now I can't wait for them to do a Runaways Netflix series.

And yet some people actually think the dude who has gone bankrupt multiple times is fit to run a nation.

I am really looking forward to what they do with T'Challa and Spider-Man. I've heard they are amazing.

Uh…stereotypes about Italians are not the same as ones about Asians. Italians are not discriminated against in modern America.

Bowie, then Prince etc. Man so many great musicians are passing away this year. RIP.

One thing I liked about Daredevil S2 was they made Punisher more sympathetic and tolerable than he usually is (the cemetary scene, anyone?) and I have never been a big fan of him. Just kind of okay.

It doesn't come out here until May 6th so I am hoping to see it this weekend.

It's not that I think it will be bad. I'm sure it will be a good movie, it's just that Marvel could have been more diverse with their casting here and they blew it.

It actually kind of makes me wish they cast an Asian-American as Iron Fist instead for his series.

Apparently Snyderverse Superman smiles psychotically before he smashes normal, non-superhuman people through walls.

Seriously, he is supposed to get his morals from his earth parents. How is he supposed to be as idealistic as he is supposed to be with parents who say things like that!?

Well, minus Tilda Swinton playing Ancient One, but other than that yeah.

I love how idealistic Captain America and Superman are. I feel like the MCU gets the tones of characters like Captain America and Superman better than they do in any of the recent Superman movies.

i.e. what Goyer and Snyder did to Superman…

MCU Cap does Superman better than Snyder's abomination of Superman did.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but with the stuff they did with The Hand I thought Daredevil still has a big problem with their negative depiction of Asian people too.
