I will never understand this “style”. That car is fugly as sin. To each their own.

Lol, these replies are hilarious. Nothing in my statement is a defense of SSC, or letting them off the hook, or anything of that nature. It’s called reading the facts for yourself, knowing what you don’t know, and letting the experts (in this case Guinness) get to the bottom of it before grabbing a pitchfork. More…
Eh, I would call it poor wording and not at all a lie if this statement from SSC is true.
Seriously, a normal sane person who notices this would think, huh Top-Gear seems to have mixed up the video and move on with their lives and let the experts (Guinness) do their due diligence. Meanwhile in the wacky real world we now live in these people spent countless hours trying to prove SSC didn’t set a record.
Was going to say the same exact thing.
So they are going to start making crossovers then?
I think it’s a cool equivalent of a Jeep Gladiator. But not many people want those at a way lower price. If you want people to spend $100k on a truck, it better tow a lot a long way. This may tow a lot, but I seriously doubt it’s getting far. That will be the downfall of this and the cybertruck. But enough people will…
If there’s any justice these people should be tracked down and charged with a DWI. Driving while idiotic is just as bad as intoxicated.
These ads have always bugged me. But the trouble is they depict exactly why the safety features are needed. We humans are dumb creatures that do dumb things from time to time. And sadly there are many who do dumb things all the time. I don’t know how you advertise these features without showing people doing dumb…
Too slow does not equal not fun. Loved my ‘13 FRS (manual), honestly found it more fun than the way faster ‘16 S3 (DSG) that replaced it. Hell the ‘08 Mazda 3 hatch (also manual) I have now is generally more fun to drive than the S3 was. Maybe I’m just really partial to the third pedal, but both of those were more…
All of your examples travel on roads and have wheels, thus they are cars. People have literally been using helicopers as personal transports for decades, and in no small numbers. Hell there are even uber/lyft style apps to catch a helicopter ride.
By that logic airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons, manned rockets, etc. are also flying cars. Hear that guys, we can stop dreaming, flying cars have been here for decades!
Don’t worry, they’ll start calling it a flying coupe soon enough.
Sure, if you are not delivering the product as described, that’s the equivalent of not driving a person to their destination. Uber/Lyft will kick you off if you decline too many rides, that’s like Ebay kicking you off if you don’t sell X items in a year.
1 and 2 are absolutely a yes for Uber/Lyft drivers. The company sets the price and dictates all aspects of the job (aka the ride you provide). Your only choice is to accept or decline. 3 could even be argued as the drivers are a key aspect of the business, without their “contractors” Uber/Lyft have no business.
Except you set the price of your product, and determine the conditions of the sale. You also can sell as much or as little as you want, and if you have crappy reviews you can still sell stuff (or at least list it for sale).
Trading in the wife’s one year old leased RDX to Carvana tomorrow and they are gonna write us a check. Looked on a whim because she barely uses it anymore and was shocked how much they were offering. Goodbye unecessary car payment.
