She got bumped up to CEO at a notable company. Gravity now equals -9.8 m/s^2 for her, as with other CEOs. She can only fail upward.

I am super, super interested to see how much power she’ll actually get, and whether or not she’ll be able to manage the Musk boy king successfully.

Eh, I’m not really worried about the glass cliff in this case. Dude who is owner and ran it into the ground is staying on as an executive controlling the product. Any one with a brain would buy that he killed any success she could achieve. Especially if he keeps tweeting.

I thought the same thing - specifically a pregnancy announcement that she’s having Musk’s baby, since that’s how he rolls with his employees.

The SpaceX launch pad issue falls under penny-wise, but pound-foolish, so cost was an issue, yeah. My understanding is that Musk wanted to lower upfront costs to get to space as quickly as possible, and that was (mostly, but not entirely) fine for less powerful boosters. Getting to Mars with a crew requires a lot more

Advertisers: “So how are you tackling increased toxicity on the platform.”

Does Ms. Yaccarino actually think she can fix things, or is she being paid so much she is willing to be the fall gal?

I’m actually grateful to Musk, because had he not glibly tap-danced that site into an even worse hellscape than it was, I wouldn’t have had the good sense to final excise the social media tumor out of my life once and or all a couple months back, freeing myself from daily doses of hate-fuckery.

When will this man learn to just keep his mouth shut?

I mean I know he’ll never learn but one can dream.

Can’t disagree there.

It just kind of is one the things that I don’t get about how Trump is so popular (well, I mean, I do get it, people love that he’s a prick), but it amazes me that someone who is just so incapable of even the most basic and simple acts of civility is what so much of our country views as the guy

I’m amazed anyone is still on that shit platform.

It’s crazy that “gracious to the incoming Presidential family” is something we took for granted so long that when trump punted on it, the Bushes of all people looked like heroes for sticking to a 200 year old protocol of civility.

In other words, Musk will continue to drive his investment into the ground, and she’s just his “beard” to make it all seem less unsavoury. That totally tracks for him.

Given her background, I assume that she’ll be there to mend fences with advertisers, and to rebuild the communications department. Replying to all inquiries with a poop emoji can only last for so long.

I originally wrote a sarcastic reply that Twitter is woke now, but after reading more about the CEO it’s even funnier to me that she worked for NBC. It’s almost as if these high level executives are all part of the same clubs. The only difference is the letters hanging on side of the building.

Though only barely - he got high-end treatment that was extremely unavailable to the wider public then, because of his position/money, and from everything I’ve read about it at the time and since, he was in much worse shape than they let on at the time.  There’s a reason even he, the most idiotically stubborn human on

He’s actually three bazillion Covid viruses in an ill-fitting suit.

I still blame COVID. The virus had hold of a 75yo guy who eats nothing but Mickey D’s and never moves under his own power, and it let him go.

the second best part was when he admitted he took the documents b/c he wanted them, he was there & he took them & he knew it.  let’s think about how that’s going to come back to bite him in the ass.

oh, pleasepleasepleaseplease do...
