I don’t think it’s really that thin. There isn’t really any purpose to hoarding and it’s mostly an inability to throw shit out even when it’s largely worthless. It’s also very destructive, with no organisation and no care. Collecting on the other hand tends to be focused, organised, and the collections often have some

What? I was still playing on a GBC (by necessity, not by nostalgic choice) in middle school, and that was in 2003.

Repurposing old hardware also has its own value, even if it’s just sealing a bunch of them in acrylic. You can’t preserve everything that ever gets made, and you shouldn’t want to, either. The Game Boy itself is well preserved as a platform and there’s no shortage of different ways you can still experience it.

I can’t stand this ass, but that table is pretty cool. This is stuff that other random youtubers might do and I wouldn’t shit on them for it. There is more than enough reasons not to like Logan and his brother without this being part of the equation.

Abysmal? What drugs were you on?

I just watched this movie on HBO max and freaking loved it. 9.5 out of 10, made me retroactively enjoy the third movie... almost. I grade for my expectations and never expect all that much out of Hollywood these days, but this was the most fun I’ve had “at the movies” (you ain’t catching me in no theater anytime soon)

My friends and I have planned to watch and discuss this flick.
My planned opening line: “It could have been WAAAAAY worse.”
I agree the choppy action and implementation of a certain Frenchman in that one scene could have been way less...unnecessary?
Despite its misgivings, this movie was enjoyable for me. It was way

Oof. This hasn’t been a good day for Robot_Jox.

it’s not going to get nominated for any acting awards or anything

Nah, people also liked the acting. Pretending that it was anywhere near “atrocious” is fucking bullshit, and borderline xenophobic.

Glad to see Hamish Linklater make the list. I loved him in Legion and Fargo so it was nice to see him get a meatier role. He has one of those soothing voices that can monologue (his mother was a diction coach, which explains a lot), so even when Midnight Mass’ theological chats went on too long I didn’t mind at all.

If calling someone’s opinion “silly” (which is the worst thing I’ve said here) is something you consider to be an “attack,” perhaps a comment board ... ANY comment board ... isn’t the right place for you?

I think their opinion is wrong, objectively, but it’s also silly because they suggest that if this show was somehow something different than what it was, then critics wouldn’t like the acting. So ... uh ... what? I don’t even know how to unpack that. I mean, clearly if it were shot in the United States, it would be

Nobody actually watched this show because of the acting and drama”

You do realize every country basically has their own standards of acting, right? Squid Game has stellar acting. You can pick apart anything for being “unnatural” if you’re insufferable enough. Do you think people on American TV shows talk like how Americans actually talk?

Everyone who hates this film is actually associating the film with some deep seated trauma. They got beat for dropping cereal or something after they watched it.

I absolutely adore Hook. I’m always happy to rewatch it, and think it is wildly underrated. It’s not his best movie, but it isn’t anywhere near his worst movie either.

It’s nowhere near his best but it isn’t his worst. It’s weird the hate this thing has picked up in recent years, be it an overcorrection to the nostalgia for it from some or just not being the intended audience.

I tired to show my mom the anime once, even connecting it to a show she was really into at the time, but she could have been less interested. Now, she started watching the live action unprompted of her own free will. Not everyone has the stomach for anime.

I know it’s just a media property, but this is geniunely a little aggravating to see the point missed this badly. It was fundamentally a critique of the way rich capitalists exploit and humiliate the poor for profit.
