I get why people don’t like Corden, but, other than Schwimmer, the Friends brought an enthusiasm level of about 2 to the proceedings, so having Corden as a hype man was probably necessary.

Eh...it’s concern-trolling and virtue-signalling wrapped-up in a nice, shiny package. I tend to slur my speech even when I’m sober, and with my history of drinking, it leads to a lot of, “Are you OK?” or “How you feeling?” with a grim nod.

This is tough for me. I’m an adoptee, from one of her orphanages. So, this idea of her as a saint was a huge foundational belief throughout my childhood/teenage years. My parents still lay my survival (abandoned at a MofC chapter house in Western India) squarely at her feet.

Excuse my naiveté, but I thought we had all agreed the answer was maybe yes years ago.”

But this is hopefully how they should do a sequel. Blanc has to solve another, unrelated, mystery. We don’t need his backstory, we don’t need any of the other characters from the first showing up. Just another mystery with the same detective. I might even allow them a throwaway line about the author’s murder he

seems like they were just... joshing around.

I disagree with that characterization quite a bit, actually. The issue the book lays out is that Jack Torrance is a man that lacks control - he cannot control his anger when Danny pours beer on his papers, nor when George Hatfield slashes his tires, and he cannot control his drinking, which may (or may not) have led

The show’s argument, on the other hand, is that John didn’t really become a bad Captain America until he killed a man with the shield in broad daylight.

can’t fucking wait for all the wonderful pictures of my turian husband calibrating the shit outta my [REDACTED].
