That's true but I think she would make a fun, fresher heroine . But I would definitely take her as a supporting character, too.

I don't think it was really intended to be a horror, action, or thriller movie, though. It was really just a supernatural coming of age movie and a feminine power fantasy. As such, it primarily appeals to women and gay men.
The Final Girls alone seems like proof that Scream had a lasting impact on the genre. It definitely inspired a lot about Scream Queens, which is unfortunate.
Kirby (and Hayden's performance) was so, so great. Having her be the new Sydney could've been really fun.
I love that Tori Spelling has a really good sense of humor about herself.
Um, you realize that Scream was released 12/18/96 and Buffy the series first aired on 3/10/97, right? And that Buffy the movie came out in '92?
Yes. Because trench coats.
Yeah, I think Scream was such an effective takedown of the slasher genre that it became too hard to market any straight slasher movie afterwards. I do think it's influenced the next generation of horror filmmakers, too.
I think both of their performances are pretty underappreciated. Neither of them had all that much screen time (especially Drew) but they did a lot with the roles to make you feel that way. And I totally agree about how devastating that moment is.
I think even that was supposed to be a commentary on Hollywood's often crass exploitation of true crime narratives. Considering how many murder trials have been consumed like soap opera's post-OJ Simpson, we probably aren't too far away from that.
It was eerily plausible, if a bit of "kids today!" hand-wringing, in 2011 but it's even more applicable now. It's totally appropriate that the character was played by Emma Roberts.
Godipus, I love Jawbreaker. She was excellent in it, too.
I really like Hayden in that movie and I really wasn't expecting to. She was the right kind of snarky.
I honestly don't remember very much of Scream 4 because I was way too distracted by seeing Courtney Cox's face on a huge screen. So much botox, so many fillers.
Blasphemer! The Craft was excellent and, save for the final confrontation, arguably doesn't even try to be a horror movie.
I love that SMG had been playing Buffy long enough that she wasn't convincingly helpless enough while being chased that they, allegedly, had to put rocks in her shoes.
I agree that Cosima is too vital to the remainder of the series and killing her off would probably alienate too much of the audience, even discounting the lesbian following. I also think Orphan Black is ultimately too optimistic to kill off anyone in clone club.
She was probably under the impression that hers didn't have the failsafe. She was definitely arrogant enough to believe it.
Pluck and moxie are in their DNA!
She's always been incredibly calculated; she just has her sights on a different endgame now.
