It might be personal bias but Taylor Kitsch's character was the only main character I found remotely interesting and hadn't seen a thousand times before AND better.

I don't disagree but True Detective also benefited from airing before Fargo even started.

I'm guessing the announcement of Ewan in dual roles for the third season of Fargo was the final straw for realizing they were being outdone in a similar genre by FX.

And by "actually" I mean that people have actually gone on record saying that Austin Powers forced their hand.

It's actually a result of Austin Powers. The franchise was flagging and becoming too close to self-parody and Austin Powers kept closing that gap for it. They knew they had to change direction and a more physical, rougher Bond who is less reliant on gadgets and less of an old school chauvinist addressed a lot of the

Part of the problem is that young fans of the 80's were the first generation of movie watchers who could rewatch their favorite movies as many times as they wanted. Home video created a new form of fan and the scarcity imposed by the costs of home video produced a generation of fans who are rabidly attached to a

I was somewhat annoyed by the fan criticisms that it was just a rehash of the original. There were a lot of very obvious parallels (and outright re-imagining) but a new film was going to be at a disadvantage because of the lackluster prequel trilogy. As another attempt at reviving the franchise and the first not

There are definitely a few things that fuel this degree of fan entitlement (again, barring sexism, etc):
1) Consumers are more savvy and know so many reboots and adaptations are just cynical exploitations of existing fan bases and fans want better product in return for their money/devotion to such properties than they

Considering the backlash when Craig was announced, the fan eruption for a non-white or female Bond would be EPIC.

The double whammy of "Bisexual Because of Meth" and "White Trash" made me realize that Lady Dynamite is similar to Strangers With Candy in that Important Lessons aren't learned or are subverted entirely. I think approaching the series from that perspective makes a helps with some of the "questionable" jokes.

Meh, I wasn't really bothered about the bi character. I think they played against expectations well enough. And some bi guys can be really terrible to be romantically involved with. Like, REALLY terrible.

This would do at least as well for Hulu as Mindy and it seems like they could actually make it happen…

I've long proselytized for Wonderfalls. I was one of the 5 people who actually watched it live when they only aired like 4 episodes out of order and in like 3 different time slots. I was stunned and stupidly happy when they announced the DVD set; it was still in the early days of TV on DVD.

It didn't strike me right away but after a few episodes it felt like it was similarly playing with and subverting expectations, especially around the "lesson" of the episode.

I mostly think (hope?) that whatever happened to him didn't leave him with any memories of his future self/death and that "Hodor" was the only remnant of it etched in his mind.

I'm pretty sure his death will connect back to Vanessa somehow. She's cursed, after all.

I'm pretty sure my head would explode and/or it would completely ruin me emotionally

Yeah, they tied together that whole episode very smartly.

Disabilities aren't inherently sad.

This article pretty thoroughly discusses why he's had a hard time transitioning to adult roles. And yes, pretty is a good sized part of it.
