It's never twins.
It's never twins.
"Surprised that people find this one about disappointing. Did y'all miss The Abominable Bride? THAT was disappointing."
right! I was just about to bring that up too. The best answer I can come up with is that it was a ridiculously oblique way of saying "not to worry, my secretary is going to call a bunch of freelance super-spies to come rescue us". But - for a start, come on, why would you say that. Even if you *do* want to say…
he was actually unbelievably dumb in this episode (another weak point). He even called it out himself, but still - *Sherlock* doesn't immediately come up with 'someone's looking for something inside them' as the obvious reason why someone would be going around smashing up hollow plaster statues and nothing else?
and why exactly were they torturing them in the first place? were we supposed to believe ajay when he said they were doing it for fun? None of it really makes any sense at all.
And can we talk about the whole 'ammo' thing anyway? It was just supposed to be a code word on the telephone, so why the hell would the hostage takers have been talking about it so constantly, especially *after* the whole thing went down when - so far as I can see - she wouldn't have had any reason at all to contact…
"It’s always disappointing when a compelling character gets reduced to a plot device in this way, particularly when it’s a woman"
All brandy is fruity. I mean, that's kind of the definition.
I've never read any of the comics, but when watching the movie, the character basically came across to me as a painfully outdated Oriental mystic stereotype who was, for some unaccountable reason, being played by Tilda Swinton.
Right, because when we're talking about a cartoon pastiche of a surgeon who becomes some kind of a multi-dimensional space wizard, realism is *all important*.
I love that on my AV Club front page right now, this story shows above an article titled "Going In Style wants to be the Last Vegas of geriatric bank robbery".
It's a bit hard to parse because of all the stuff going on, but the whole explanation *does* make sense (and is masterful, well played Teti). In that sentence, Teti is pointing out that the whole basis on which Triplette awarded and then withdrew the penalty is bogus: he claimed to have awarded it on the basis that…
Well, it's both incredible and deeply uncomfortable, in context.
It was easy enough to make a playlist of this album which just cut out all the talk-y tracks and included all the songs. I did that. I still listen to it a lot. It's a damn good album and I won't hear otherwise!
I'm the QA team lead for a major Linux distribution. You're preaching to the choir over here. ;)
Of course, things are much better now!
Um. What? You seem angry. I'm sorry about that, but I don't think I had anything to do with it.
Any time you're not explicitly saying something else, you're just assumed to be fighting.
It might be the nicest-sounding language ever. I can listen to those Welsh tracks on Catatonia albums all day.
"The tour will concentrate mostly on concert halls and theaters with seats, as longtime fans who were in college when Ágætis Byrjun came out presumably prefer."
