Unless there’s a reason to have the best loot, once I hit endgame in MMOs I usually just quit playing. There’s no desire for me to have the best virtual gear just to show off.

While I’m not loving the game, I feel Anthem succeeds much better with balancing story vs look than Destiny does. I tried playing Destiny 2 and it felt like the entire game is loot worship. Anthem has a story I can actually get into with loot as an important aspect.

It’s not PvP. If you don’t have the best gear you’re not automatically at a disadvantage in the same way. If you don’t enjoy the game enough to want to play without the best loot, you shouldn’t be playing at all.
