“Haven’t faced a 2nd-year QB like Mayfield”
“Haven’t faced a 2nd-year QB like Mayfield”
Conceded:
I wouldn’t deny that they are trying to hit hard, inflict pain, physically dominate, however you want to put it.
In your own post you said they are “trying to inflict pain” but “most aren’t trying to actually injure anybody.” There’s an old adage about the difference between pain and injury—I’m not sure that idea is completely valid, but I think it has merit and whatever merit it has is applicable here when it comes to intent…
For all the grief football gets I have always believed in the distinction that football is a physical game with a high risk of injury but not intent; the Vontaze Burficts of the world aside, the players aren’t there to injure each other. This just isn’t true of boxing or other combat sports where the fundamental intent…
That was closer to 2004 than 1994.
It’s baseball, so any team has a legitimate shot, just because a best of 7 is a limited sample where the margins between teams are smaller than in other sports.

The real irony is this paragraph...
I desperately want a GWB / Michelle Obama buddy cop movie (drama or comedy, I don’t care) in spite of, or perhaps because of, how much it would make heads ‘asplode on both sides of the political aisle.
Considering literally every president, of every party, that’s ever lived is arguably a war criminal (some worse than others, natch), I am wondering what the line is for reintegrating these people back into polite society.
I really hate the “play the right way” stuff like what Martinez said.
What if---and hear me out here---it was a personal issue that he didn’t want to disclose?
“I bet it has its ups and downs” to the elevator guy is glorious I will not listen to any counterarguments.
How is it not Fu Minshew?
I realize there is some analytical basis for this article (I mean, I read it) but at the end of the day both this and the criticism of Seattle in Super Bowl 49 are really veering into “results over process” territory. I feel like analytics are a lot more useful for macro decisions like to kick or not (punt/FG/PAT)…
If you told me that was a Stabbing Westward music video I wouldn’t know if you were referring to the music or his form.
How often does this happen during the course of an NBA season, though?
Kitchens often looks and coaches like a guy who was handed the headset after winning a contest
I’m trying to couch my responses a little bit. I totally agree with you that these plays were way luckier than Mahomes to Hill last year. There were a few things in this game that were lucky for KC, but nothing like those two specific plays for Baltimore.
