I think it was my Apocalypse Now! But glad you liked. And I think we all had that Beta Max experience… why didn't they fit into a VCR!?

Yeah, I tried waaaay too hard with this one. It's gonna be a once a year type of thing, mostly because we have 5 days to shoot an episode and this one took me 32 days.

It really is a brilliant movie that I've probably gotten 20 people to watch. I loved loved loved World's Greatest Dad.

Yep! I cast him as the president of OCP. And he signed my They Live Poster — keep chewing that bubble gum! EPIC.

I love that you like the best, crassest edgy comedy and then retreat into my soft Disney show. Still kinda shocks me because before this show I never once thought I'd write something that parents would watch with kids. And the show was originally for Fox, which is why the pilot is a different show with lots of yelling

Best post for this episode hands down!

I have Thriller too!!!!! Let's be honest, all the awesome kids did their own version. I tried to use it for my Halloween episode but the song costs 100k… and then the DANCE costs another 100k. Um, yeah. It'll never happen. Such a friggin shame.

That's a cool Dad. Bobcat! Forgot about him in the mix. I remember seeing him on an HBO show… maybe Tales From the Crypt and he wasn't doing his character and I felt so betrayed!

Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for taking all that time for the feedback. Means a lot. I think the universe would cave in if I combined Optimus and banjo… but I just may do it! And David LOVED that I made him a character on the show. Long before he was arguing politics, we debated real stuff that matters like who would win in a fight —

My best friends from school are Emmy Mirsky, Chad Kremp and David Sirota. I had told David when the show got picked up I'd make him a character because he was such an awesome part of my childhood. There was an epiphany moment in 10th grade when we had to study for a test and I discovered he was a fellow geek who

Ha. Awesome. My oldest friend in the world is David Hornsby who plays Cricket on Always Sunny and he's related to Bruce. I often just email him for no reason and say — That's just the way it is. He has not once found it amusing.

The best and worst thing about TV writing is free food. So basically, I eat garbage for every meal until my heart hurts.

My dad DID go to Penn State on a basketball scholarship. He actually met my mom at temple when he was her TA. But that was a lot to explain… so I simplified it.

Back then, parents were so clueless. They had no idea what his standup was and I think may have even bought me his tape cause I begged for it. I remember he did this routine about why don't men have one giant testicle instead of two and the 12 year old me had a brain explosion. I had never heard anything so funny.

Clancy Brown auditioned for my last show Breaking In (the role went to the amazing Christian Slater). Before Clancy auditioned, he told me everything that was wrong with my writing and the pilot. It was AWESOME and everything I wanted it to be.

All he wants me to do is make him a sports star and super popular, which is how Barry and TV Barry view themselves.

Well, I guess I divide it into early 80s and late 80s. But Facts of Life, ALF, Family Ties and Silver Spoons… which does NOT hold up.

Just this morning the real Barry called to yell at me. He said — how could make make a dork like Dave Sirota look so cool when I'm the coolest one in the family and you make me look like a total f'n idiot. Which in itself is such a Barry thing to say. And yes, he's the best to write for.

Like I've said, if anyone else on this board had a show you guys would do the same thing. People who love TV as much as all of us shouldn't be given shows. It's very awkward for everyone.
