Imagine... An online game struggling to support server loads at launch. Unprecedented.

Just like at ‘no point’ did studios specifically say that they’re going to stop producing physical media for their releases. And yet, if you go to most stores, you either won’t find any physical media for sale, or what you do find will be extremely minimal.

Right off the bat, this slideshow starts with the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a long time. No one wants transparent TVs at home and this will never be a thing. I can see a use for it in the commercial arena, but it just won’t be useful for people at home.

Agreed, streaming is the much bigger concern here. Not only for preservation but quality. Aside from the technical downsides of streaming (image compression, lag, queues, etc), there would be no mod support, no customizable graphics settings and potentially not even MKB support for many games. If I’m ever forced to

The game is amazing and this is a ridiculously silly take.

Saw this a couple days ago. The best part of the video is easily Jason’s illustrations of the “Cybertruck” and “911" in his diagrams.

I think we should all take a moment to appreciate Jason’s hyper accurate drawings of the 911 and the Cybertruck.

I have hated home printers my whole adult life and just when I thought HP couldn’t get any worse I tried to use the inbuilt scanner the other day. No dice. You need to create an account. Ugh! Why in the world do HP need me to have an account to use my scanner!? I don’t need an account to print from the same printer. I

HP is just a scummy company. I remember when that solder issue hit a few years back that affected the 360, PS3 and every laptop brand, HP’s “fix” was a bios update that ran the fans harder to try and edge out warranties.

This comes down to some simple advice

Real reason they want to do this: Ubisoft games hold their value so fucking poorly that they're half or more off in a matter of months.

You can still buy music and movies. I know, because I do! But I can look at all my similarly aged friends and family, and find that they’ve all, despite being born in the media-buying generation, now rely exclusively on streaming for both. They transitioned, not from a lack of options, but because of the convenience

Indeed. And notice how those digital games still cost that $60/70, even though they don’t have that cost of producing a box or disc.

And once you can’t own your games anymore, the march of enshitification will ensure that you’ll get worse and worse while simultaneously costing more and more. See: literally every industry.

Clearly people are ok with not owning their games or media and this is not new - renting was obviously massively popular pre-streaming.

Giving the reliability and transitory ‘status’ of ‘games as a service’ that publishers like Ubisoft has shown us, I believe I speak for every gamer when I say, “Fuck right off,” in response to Ubisoft’s newest asinine idea.

Printers have never worked. Well, never when anyone’s ever needed them to. They work when you first set them up, and they print that text page to get your hopes up, but when you have to have that boarding pass printed out and the flight’s leaving in 43 minutes, it won’t even light up. This is because, as previously

Sister has an HP, because she let her subscription lapse for the ink delivery the printer itself wouldn’t print anything until she resubbed

Why does HP keep paying out all that money? Because a fine is a price
Until the courts are able to hand out punishments that are actually punishments, companies are going to keep on doing dodgy dealings that make more money than the fine they’ll eventually be hit with

To be honest with prompts like this, I’m increasingly convinced that the WCSIB segments are for made up people.
