I’ve never bought wheel protection but I can’t remember the last time I bought a tire without spring for the road hazard coverage. I’ve only needed it a couple of times, but both of them were on tires that were just a few months old.

I used to think the coverage was dumb, but having lost a wheel and two tires in the past 3 years alone, I definitely have seen the light.

FWIW , BMWs are notoriously bad / known for having wheel & tire issues.
