Textfree allows you to send/receive unlimited text messages (sorry, no MMS) on your iPod touch for free. I used it quite a while and it works great. They also give you your own phone number!

@SageofMusic: It should. It's an iOS application, and all previous iOS applications should work with the new devices.

@CherM2222: If I could, I'd promote this.

My first thought was A New Hope...

@Skutarth: Oh, thanks. Yeah, it appears as if they do.

I'm not to familiar with the physical console, but aren't there holes for ventilation on the side or something? And would this cover those up?

@Sidetalker: Well mp3 players had been around for a while, but had never really taken off. The iPod, in the eyes of most skeptics of the day, probably would've just sat on shelves while people snapped up CD players like there was no tomorrow.

WebOS Synergy FTW.

Apple placed bets on a risky gamble: the iPod. And with that, they evolved into what we see today. I think it's remarkable how companies can make or break their futures on one product alone.

I'm so glad you write here, Kat. I now have cool stuff to read when I wake up over here on the US west cost. Keep up the great work!

"Media Extender" is a trophy that should go to the PlayStation 3 because of its Blu-Ray capabilities, but the Xbox wins the achievement for game console.

@shooter: What does your idiotic, juvenile, and denigrating comment have to do with the article?

@SuramaAte: My friend is a DJ and he uses software on a winXP laptop.

@Buckus: Neat. One of my friends got on board for some Win7 release party, and he got 7 Ultimate for FREE. I don't know how.

@hvrock13: I don't have a problem with things that aren't "advanced". I don't think that everyone must use what I use. I just don't see a market for niche products like this.

@haodamao: Hey. That's quite insulting, but I'll take it in stride. I just meant that the extra size wouldn't be nice. I currently have a Pre Plus and I love the svelte form factor. I just don't like big things in my pockets. Unlike the rest of the world, the only other thing attached to my car key is a little flash

@Buckus: Wow. Pick me up something? :D

@Tommy Five: I like the employee discount part! It does make a difference. With car companies, they all have a small share of the market. With OS manufacturers, it's pretty much 80/20 MS/Apple. So there's a difference.
