Remember in the summer of 2020 when streaming services took down a bunch of episodes from old sitcoms featuring characters in blackface, even the ones where the joke was “hey, look at this racist idiot who thinks it’s okay to do blackface”? Well, I think there may be similar reactions to that little old lady who calls

Blazing Saddles got away with some stuff that’s problematic by today’s standards.”

...I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone say “I’ve never seen a celebrity get as much hate as Chris Pratt”; at most it’s been “I don’t think he deserves the hate”, and usually it’s been “The hate directed at him is disproportionate to what he’s actually said and done”. (Full disclosure: I consider myself in that last

I live in Montreal and this is a perspective that’s desperately needed for this article and the people commenting here. It’s very easy to call the Quebecois assholes just by reading headlines but that also doesn’t take into account the kind of shitty government we’re living under. For the records I'm all for

I also think people online are very, VERY engaged, and tend to miss the fact that many people who are part of a religion, a group, a political party etc. do so for fairly superficial reasons.  It’s a laid back church that plays upbeat music, where pastors seem younger and more relaxed than what you normally get.  It’s

Yeah, I genuinely think people just got mad that he went from being an approachable chubby doofus to being what the mainstream considers hot, and they resent him for that in the bizarre, way too personal parasocial way that the Way Too Online specialize in

i’ve never really understood this critique of him? Are there many churches who’s stances on LGBTQ+ people are not super behind the times? Is he the only actor in hollywood who goes to church? Because going to church and cosigning all the backwards beliefs of christianity are two very different things, and pretending

I never understood the group consensus that Chris Pratt represents some specific Evangelical evil. It sounds like his church operates that way at an organizational level, but HE strikes me as a kind of “apolitical centrist” type: complacent with his privilege (which certainly sucks, to be fair), but not actively

It bugged me a little bit that they had “I could do this all day” on a t-shirt. Like... the public RECOGNIZES that quote?

I’m certain she’ll get a growth arc. But, yeah, it’s hard to watch (though not unrealistic based on some families I’ve known)

Can’t someone just comment on the Reva character with it having absolutely zero to do with what trash people happen to have been saying? Who gives a shit? I also like the character and have sung her praises without pausing for a nanosecond’s thought about what some asshole might think about it.

Both exactly. You read my mind. In fact D+ should throw together an in-universe doc just like you describe. It would be cameo nuts, but simply put together a “real” documentary crew to visit these actors in character. It would be like a two-hour compilation of One-Shots. Do it cheap. The cheaper the better. Not too

They did reveal in the show that Scott Lang has a podcast, so I’m assuming he’s gone over a lot of the stuff he was directly involved with on it. Possibly even interviewed other heroes on it.

I thought it was very charming. Most of my lingering questions relate almost exclusively to AvengerCon. Here are some:

Same. Though I suppose I see how one could. Hell, ironically if they DID have a warning beforehand when I had watched it then it would have been on the forefront of my mind. But they didn’t. So I didn’t. I just let the sweet escapism wash over me.

Is this all some sort of bizarre performance art or is everyone involved really this fucking dumb?

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but it does feel like the comics of old would be in a lot of trouble these days.

I get maybe not wanting your money to go to Chappelle (if he was even paid for it. I assume he was but sometimes a surprise is just a surprise). But if you’ve got issues sitting in the crowd listening to the jokes or whatever, you could just chill in the lobby or wherever until the main act. I have some sympathy for

This is literal conservative comedian jokes. X identified as Y is Babalon Bee trash. Jesus fucking Christ on a cracker this is pathetic.  At least Tim Heidecker is doing better.

You almost never know who the opening act is for a comedy show and sometimes you don’t like that act.
