I don’t have an echo, but I have a Fire TV with Alexa, and its voice controls are awesome... Also, I am considering getting an Echo, as I have a Vivint home security system and Alexa can integrate with it. I can tell her to lock the doors, turn on lights, adjust thermostat, etc.

They are going to allow third party installs later. Just not at launch, which kind of sucks. Unless Photoshop is available in the MS store, which I am not sure of.

This can be done with Office 365 as well. Google may have done it first, but it’s there.
