It would not surprise me if it does that because the program sees McAfee as an unnecessary service. Since MS has built in virus protection.
I have a HTPC with Windows 8.1. I use the Netflix modern app. Modern UI is actually great for a HTPC.
I drive a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek which is rated 33 mpg hwy. My real life mileage is probably closer to 30-31, which is sufficient for me considering the AWD.
Thanks for the reply. The desktop itself would not use the VPN, just my mobile devices. Would those modifications still be required?
I have a pretty decent desktop (Haswell Xeon quad core with HT, 16 gigs ram). Could I use Amahi in a virtual machine to be my VPN for my windows tablet and phone? I work for the state government which blocks gmail, and this would make checking this so much easier. I could also downgrade my data plan and rely more on…
I introduced my wife to Zelda, shes been slow to catch on, but she's getting there. My wife was already a gamer, but her favorite (oddly enough) were the Donkey Kong games...just cant get my head around it...
I don't think it was said to be offensive, but more as "I had no idea".
I am an RDN and a school food service director in Kentucky. The RDN in me loves these lunches, and wished the kids that packed in my district would bring meals like this. I will probably distribute this throughout my district at the beginning of next year. The FSD in me sadly knows that my participation would be in…
Exactly! A lot of people forget this. Also, I am sure those eggs, bacon, and butter he was using were free of a lot of the preservatives and chemicals that plague our food today. Drinking whole milk occasionally is perfectly fine, but I still would not recommend it more than once a day (unless you need to gain…
This, or any other windows 8.1 tab. No third party apps required.
Microcenter has the new Dell Venue Pro 8 for 259.99 (in store pickup only). Which is $40 off the regular price. The tablet is a full windows 8 install with baytrail atom.
Emptying the cat box. Eww.
I like this article because it is realistic about the drawbacks of an Apple product, actually, any "new" product really. It is refreshing to read, especially with a sister site to this one praising it in all its glory. It just burns me up, how much WP8, and WinRT, and Win 8 (yes, MS fanboi here) gets smashed by…
The Start screen is actually great for a HTPC UI. It is easy to navigate with the wireless keyboard/track pad I use. Much easier to read icons and navigate than the standard desktop mode. Also, it looks kick ass on my wall mounted TV.
A ketogenic diet will essentially turn your blood into an acid over time, which is just as bad for the kidneys as hyperglycemia.
I also prefer 10 inches due to using it for real work such as note taking, emailing, and other office apps. 8 inch keyboards are just too cramped.
I would take a look at the new Win 8.1 tabs from Dell and Toshiba. You can get them in an 8 inch form factor, and it is a full blown PC, not a tablet.
Gulf Shores, AL. I know it is considered the "redneck Riviera", but it isn't nearly as commercialized as most of the Florida coastal cities. Great local food, white sands, and its only a 10 hr. drive from Lexington, KY which is where I live.
I have no qualms with that. I would love to see a similar article with Windows Phone. I think MS is trying to give customers the best of both worlds. I don't think they offer the best at either world, but do have a good compromises.
From my personal use, WP works well for me. Phone never crashes, syncs perfect over MS…
