Actually the warning of the artic areas is causing the cold air normally contained there to move into other parts of the world.

Purely anecdotelly, the winters in the late 80s through early oughts were nothing like the winters we had when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s.  The last decade or so has more than made up for it.

It got cold and all the sudden they started calling it climate change.
