I, too, was mostly satisfied with Centrist & The Disaster Bi. But hoo-boy is the apparent half-rehabilitation of Walker into Sam The Slightly Homicidal Eagle not going to play well.
I mean this in the best way possible: I thought this was just about the cheesiest, most earnest thing the MCU has ever done. And like all of Sam’s hero moments, it was a well-earned cheesy earnestness.
Sam’s speech was a big swing but when he said “The only power I have is that I believe we can do better.” I found myself doing a big, unironic, corny head-nod.
I appreciate the mention of how Karli and Sharon were underserved by the series’ 6-hour movie feel. One of the virtues that television has over film is that it’s easier to stop for a moment and dedicate time to supporting members of the ensemble without sacrificing the greater story arc of the leads, but Falcon and…
Dare Me was a USA show, though it would have fit in well with YOU as a show Netflix picked up and everyone forgot was on proper TV before.
I wish Dare Me got a second season from Netflix. The trailer for this one didn’t quite hook me because the back and forth format had me confused lol, but I’ll still try it out. B grade is solid enough for some pulpy tv.
Don’t forget “The Spirit of Pawnee”.
Hopefully it will display all the sensitivity of the murals at City Hall on Parks & Rec, like ‘Cornfield Slaughter’, ‘Lament of the Buffalo’, ‘Needless Slaughter’, ‘Slaughter Gone Wrong’, ‘Eating the Reverend’, ‘It’s Raining Blood’, and ‘Death Everywhere’.
This is a nice surprise! For some reason, I thought this show had been cancelled. I guess it just seems like the type of show that gets (unfairly) cancelled.
Well, shit on it :(
“Okay, casting: For the dad we need an older Jewish man, clueless - ”
“The result lives at the intersection of a dance number, a chase sequence, and a bottle episode.”
Too bad it wasn’t written by Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields.
i never wanted children & don’t have any but i enjoy this series anyway (or maybe because of). plus...alun armstrong!!!!!!!!!
I think this show found its footing midway through season one. And it devastated me plenty. Happy to have it back though.
I chuckled pretty hard at the exchange they’re showing a lot in the commercials:
In Game Night, he manages to make the simple act of a man walking backwards into his house both hilarious and genuinely rather unsettling.
I think the long play of Lewis learning to fly a plane and then going down in flames literally seconds after takeoff was the funniest thing the show ever did.
It was always great, but that one was truly sublime.
