Off the record... it’s a solid B+.

A lot of people really seem down on 3. I liked it more than most* apparently so I wouldn’t have the gap. But the order is certainly correct.
This season had a ton of great character names I'll give it that. Hawley clearly had fun with the names.
Oh hey, remember the Roach? No sign of him this week. What was the point of that? And why did he save Ethelrida from Oraetta?
It was nice to see Bokeem, but I kinda wish they hadn’t spelled it out so explicitly.
Why doesn’t Satchel call his family from the boarding house to pick him up instead of opting to become a drifter?
So much of the conflict this season is forced because characters refuse to communicate with each other even when the alternatives are clearly dire. Why doesn’t Satchel call his family from the boarding house to pick him up instead of opting to become a drifter?
Calamita’s death was very anticlimactic and I wish we could have seem that POS suffer a lot more. RIP, Rabbi. I hope Satchel and Rabbit have a long future together.
Vice Principals is the truth. That show is fucking hysterical.
I had given up on this show but I will check it out again! My FAVORITE Walt G performance is”Vice Principals”. But this is one of my favorite things ever. Like it is my ringtone.
It’s really, really good.
So if it lasts for 5 seasons, that would make Walton Goggins one of the rarified TV actors to have 3 successful series.
Well now I’m intrigued. Peak-era Cougar Town was some of the funniest stuff on TV. I watched the pilot for The Unicorn because like basically everyone else I love me some Walton Goggins, and I found it pleasant but didn’t feel the overwhelming need to keep watching. Might need to revisit it.
I kind of made a 180 on this show. At first I liked it cause, come on, how can you not like anything Walton Goggins does, the man is a treasure! (having Michaela Watkins and Rob Corddry also didn’t hurt). Then I kind of got annoyed at it because the main character was way too “perfect” at everything (at being a…
Fucking love this show.
It’s very, very good - there’s a TON of Cougar Town DNA, skipping right to the “Sunshine State” era of the show.
Walton Goggins is the reason I checked this show out last year but the supporting cast is why I’ve stuck around. Corddry, Miller, and Watkins are always great but I never really watched anything in which they had major roles. I don’t know why I mentioned that but I did.
I’m glad this show is back and glad to see your recaps.
Did not realize Dylan Gelula (Xanthippe!) is in this
apparently
