And then this poor child, who has been handcuffed on her back down in the snow and then pepper sprayed, asks for them to wipe her eyes. Imagine what it takes to get pepper sprayed by cops and then beg them to wipe your eyes as they enclose you in a police car full of pepper spray. All because she wouldn’t put her legs

The hard thing is to show patience, compassion; taking your time

Locust Club? That’s the name of the cop union? Locust? Like the plague in the Bible, Locust? Ok, sure.

Amusingly, I work for an established company these days (I did my time in the startup mines, thanks) and first quarter every year, C-level is chanting whatever buzzword is en vogue. Last year we were going to “disrupt” everything. I don’t remember what the year before’s buzzword was, but we were gonna do that, too.

The guy in TN had his stockpile confiscated by the state when they got reports on him price gouging.

When it came to vaccinations, Philly Fighting COVID wanted to approach the rollout with “innovation” in mind.

Yeah, seriously. Who the fuck trusts a group of grad students with zero experience to roll out a vaccine? Just because they 3D printed PPE doesn’t make them qualified to manage something like this.

“Disruption” is such a meaningless bullshit term. All it means is the company is going to try to make a quick buck by skirting laws that are in place to protect employees and customers. When a company says “We cut out the middleman” they really mean “we are going to BE the middleman”.

The amount of grifting that this pandemic has led to is f*cking depressing. Remember the guys who hoarded hand sanatizer and then sold it? The fake companies who got lucrative contracts to manufacture and sell masks? Now, we’ve got scammers running startups to administer vaccines.

There is always and ever will be some well educated white dude who thinks they know better than people with expertise and experience. The question I have is why people in government believe them? If ever there was a process that shouldn’t be “disrupted” it is vaccine rollout. JFC.

The Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium was right there and could have handled this much better, but as a life-long Philadelphian, I’m not surprised by this mess.

Naming and shaming does work, which is why Gaysovercovid is a “success” in turning many of the men depicted into pariahs, who might lose their friends, family, or jobs. At the end of the day, humans are social creatures, so if the consequence of their callous travels during this most dark of times is being cast out

Seconded. The most infuriating example was a nurse who received his first dose of the vaccine one day and the next day was posting thirst trap photos from his vacation in Mexico.

Oh, and the photo I saw was 15 people who were definitely also going to the parties.

Hell 15 people is also probably too much unless they’re one 15 person household or 15 people wearing masks standing at least 6 ft apart

I agree. I haven’t seen any small events on GOC (except for I think like 15-ish people at a birthday party that was also in Puerto Vallarta during all the stuff around New Years, so ...) That’s kind of why I’ve loved the account to blow off steam.

Of course, attending a circuit party with hundreds of maskless revelers is a different thing than hanging in a small friend group, though both have been featured on gaysovercovid.”

But yes, I imagine the small-time stuff is very much in the minority of content. I guess that part of my comment was a broader critique

The Instagram account in question mostly blasts people at circuit parties and stuff. It’s not like, having a couple friends over for your birthday, it’s packing several hundred into a club for an overpriced event (and mostly targeting influencers). The account is definitely punching up.

This is such a bad faith interpretation of this article, this comment is a true work of art.

I hope that account NEVER gets banned. I love it. I love seeing these white affluent gays get so fucking pressed about being outed for partying. They are the same ones who go party with their friend Tina with no masks, and then show up to a protest for clout points.
