That’s factually wrong. Calling in a bomb threat is not “freedom of speech”, it’s a call to action. If you say something in order to imminently incite harm or lawless action, that is illegal.

It’s a deeply important aspect of free speech because offense can be taken by anyone for any reason. If someone felt offense to an otherwise innocuous comment then you could be labelled as an “asshole” by that person despite general consensus.

I agree, there should be consequence to what you say. If you are an asshole you will be treated like one. However, the consequences are not legal ramifications.

The right to ‘free speech’ does in fact cover ‘being an asshole with impunity’ but steam isn’t a ‘free speech’ platform so valve can do whatever they want on it.

Great debate. I liked the part where they shouted at each other and couldn’t have possibly had a meaningful discussion. I also love the audience cheering at applause cues to drown things out even further.
