Interesting that you think just because you do it everyone is doing it. Of course many people are doing it but it is unfair to those not playing games that you have to resort to playing games. Might want to grow out of that one day. ;)

Am I the only one not understanding this Ike Turner reference? Is it before my time? :S o.O

It's not an oldz thing. I didn't care for it either.

You are trying to separate people into their sum parts: race, class, etc. But you have to understand intersectionality to get it. She may be of a different class but she still belongs to the racial or ethnic group the dance derives from. She's just a wealthier susbset of the population.

that was underwhelming. Same tired sexualization and sexual innuendos and imagery thrown into the performance. I would find it novel if something of the opposite nature was attempted creativity that was entertaining without using sex to sell. Then I'd think well that was new. I like it. Ah well, the masses are easily

This is frowned upon as it is seen as an abuse of power as the psychologist is seen as having power over the client (technically they could as they know their client's vulnerabilities and how to manipulate them for their advantage.).

"act black" huh? Are all Black people a monolith and dress and act one specific way in your mind? Do you not know there are Black people from South America, Asia, Europe, etc. etc. that would act and think completely different? Open your mind and a dam book while you're at it.

It's definitely the discrimination that's worse. Because as national headlined news of rape from the US has shown: the bigotry does not get addressed. Rather community officials teach people how not to post their hate speech or crimes online. *sigh

But this is the digital era. You know where they see it? In the media. Tv shows, comedians, social media is terrible at this, movies, etc. And every time someone does something racist, sexist, etc. they get alot of attention (although it is negative) and go from being a nobody to being known. For attention

"Free speech does not mean freedom from the consequences of said speech. Nothing is stopping these frat boys from spending the rest of their lives drinking alcohol from watermelon cups on Martin Luther King Day, if they so choose; no police will come barging through their door to stop them.

But that doesn't mean that

While I understand your specifications with criminal reports, you take an optimistically naive perspective to the stupidity of people.

That's a myth. There's just as much racism and bigotry in Canada as in US. Except the racism here tends to be targetted at Aboriginals. But there is still Black Racism just look at the racial profiling of say the Toronto police force as proof.

It is kind of entitled of you to expect POC to be like your teachers or educate you on racial issues. It seems like a cop-out for you not to have to learn or care. Your comment comes across as "ooh he was mean/rude to me about his/her struggles so fuck their struggles!"

I mean I don't expect people to teach me about

What's unfortunate is that you're expected to be numb to it rather than these assholes and people like them cutting this shit out already. :/

In the world of social media and a wave of meme imagery the watermelon and all these other symbols are used to stereotype Black people. It's on places like Reddit, 9gag, memecenter, etc. etc. where ALOT of young white dudebro types frequent.

I am so happy not to be one of these ignorant, young pricks who thinks being racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. etc. is funny. Although the ignorant young people in this day and age make me look bad by default. >:/

So I say: FUCK ALL THE STUPID YOUNG PEOPLE! GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! YOU'RE NOT KIDS ANYMORE! THAT SHIT

But we're in a system that was set up and works in favour of a man's perspective. So in essence women have to do this constantly. It would be nice if the reverse was done or encouraged to be done more often.

It might teach them empathy and not to dismiss women's complaints of harassment or take personal offense to being rejected by women.

Teach him to be respectful of women and see them as humans and not sex toys and lead by example in your relationship(s) [kids learn much about behaviour through observing parents' actions] and there's a good change he'll be a good mate for some woman one day.

Nah don't let the jerk make you doubt yourself. Expecting respect and to be seen as a human being instead of a sex toy/receptacle of penis is NOT being conservative or cautious. It is an expectation we should all have and give to others.
