I don’t think #4 is really relevant when even those families apparently agree that 110 years isn’t warranted.

Aliens is fine, but I don’t love it, and it’s a very dull-looking film compared to the original. (The monster suits in particular are just bad.) It did, however, look very good on VHS in the ‘80s in a 4:3 aspect ratio, which was not the case with Alien and its cathedral-like widescreen compositions.
