Maybe it's because I'm dumb, but I don't understand why you would use fractions in a ratio. To say a pancake is 2:0.5:2:1, by not say it's 4:1:4:2? there are already 3:1 and 5:3 ratios - you wouldn't write those as 1:1/3 and 1:0.6, would you?
