I'm in the Army and I don't think the attraction has so much to do with the "illegal domestic serial killing" as simply just the violence.

It wasn't that type of tension. I fully understand "narrative suspense." It was the type of tension where I was getting irritated because nothing was happening.
Other than the Kingdom no one was wearing anything resembling a uniform.
How did anyone from Hilltop know who was from the Kingdom and vice versa? Most of them never met and would've been shooting at each other.
This episode was tense but not in good way. I spent most the episode waiting for something…anything to happen. Never been so angry with this show.

They still have to introduce to a villain as well. MCU had already introduced Loki by the time The Avengers came out. My personal feeling is they're going to spend too much introducing characters and leave nothing in the way of plot.
The only character in Guardians of the Galaxy whose back story they really explored was Star Lord. Every other main character's story was merely brought up in dialogue. DCEU wouldn't have this problem if they had done the individual character movies first. They were impatient and wanted to catch up to MCU without putting in the work that went into world building.
You know who should really be bitter is Nicky…how could they not invite him for this cast reunion?
