Couldn’t agree more. I’d submit everyone criticizing the writing has a friend or relative, with or without a substance abuse problem, that EVERY FRIGGIN’ TIME, does the wrong thing, or exactly what they are told not to do.

Claire - on the road for business 70 nights a year. Usually, business dinners with clients or colleagues, but occasionally, the wonderful opportunity to dine alone (you can see some reviews on my site - IWriteforFood.com).

Midwesterner here, and I can attest that the “Momoa” equivalent is available at any coney island (Michigan diner, and a specific chili-, onion-, and mustard-slathered hot dog, but that’s another discussion) in the state, usually for a ridiculously low price.

Yeah, the failure to react to the two similar sketches struck me as completely unbelievable.  Are we to assume he hasn’t seen the similarities yet?  Or that he did, and dismissed them?  Neither fits with his character’s dogged pursuit of truth.

Because the “magical black man” trope is played

The different murders were sequential, so the “killers” are all in different stages of “justice”.

Their inclusion of “Gold Star Chili” as a “best” restaurant (#30, Cincinnati) disqualifies them from voicing any opinions regarding how food “tastes”.

I think we can be friends

Yes.

MAGA hat as people repellent was inspired lunacy.

Excellent! Roasted beet salad is a mainstay at our house. I regularly make one for dinner parties, and beet haters who try it usually request seconds. Roasted beets, diced red onion, pistachios, crumbled feta, lots of dill, citrus vinaigrette. I either cube the beets and mix (which means everything turns red in 15

I was going to say the only thing missing from this recipe is a shallot.  Chop fine, add with the wine, so it has a bit longer to soften.

Whoops!  “Bad Words”, not Dirty Words.  Fantastic comedy.

Turnips were a definite “Nope!” for me, until I was convinced to try the Turnip Cacio e Pepe at Butcher & Bee in Nashville. Pasta-like noodles made from turnips, as the chef’s nod to GF pasta.  Phenomenal dish, one you would never know came from a turnip.  One of many great dishes on the menu there.  Definitely worth

From Michigan - I’d be willing to wager that No Fault insurance may do more to contribute to a higher accident rate than a 5 MPH change in the upper limit.

May I just say that my side-eye and dismissal of “bone broth” was SPECIFICALLY because of the name? I keep waiting for the “Supreme” version, for $1,000 a quart.

I’ve been looking for a show to fill the Watchmen void, and this may be it. I read the book, and found it to be stronger than Mr. Mercedes. Fan of Jason Bateman (Dirty Words!!!!!), so was eager to see how he would direct and act in this miniseries. Guess that dilemma has been solved.

Watched it because of an Ebert recommendation. Fantastic film. Thought the American remake largely missed the point, much like the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Excellent write-up, precisely capturing the high points of the show.

You forgot to include your address, and what time dinner is served.
