Archie is the paradigmatic himbo.

I always (since the early 80s) thought “Prairie Home Companion” and Keillor were tedious as hell and did much to perpetuates annoying stereotypes about the Midwest. I imagine a bunch of east coasters chuckling smugly and condescendingly over the events of Lake Woebegone. Yuck.
Sirk’s “Imitation of Life” is a remake of a 1934 film of the same title starring Claudette Colbert. I’ve seen both, and also read the book they’re based on. IIRC, the daughter’s “passing” is emphasized more in the Sirk version and in the book than it is in the 1934 version.
I read about that, but I had forgotten it until now.
Impressive...but how many people actually do all the things suggested in car manuals?
Ugh, those squishy suspensions on American cars. My family had a Volkswagen Squareback, which had a fairly stiff suspension. I used to almost feel seasick riding in my friends’ parents’ American cars.
I think it ups the hotness. (Yes, this is what I think about when looking a prominent world leader.)
Rodney King was beaten by the police, and the incident was captured on video, in 1991. The cops’ trial took place in 1992, and the riots followed their acquittal by an all-white jury.
Yes. And the only specific mention of God is “...the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them...”

You can’t reduce the risk someone else’s heart attack (or your own) by wearing a mask and gloves, but you can reduce a whole bunch of people’s risk of getting COVID by wearing mask and gloves, social distancing, and…
I was responding to some idiot friend of friend about the car accident argument. So I got some numbers. In 2019, about 38,800 people were killed in auto accidents. COVID has killed over 100,000 in a scant three months. The fucking moron shut up. Or maybe it was a troll.
Exactly. Like talking about racism with other white people. Discussing white privilege, white fragility, that sort of thing. There are useful conversations to be had among white people, but “I’m embarrassed to be white” “Oh, honey don’t feel so bad..” That isn’t one of them. In fact, it’s a textbook example of white…
Indeed. Kinda like how the symbol Prince used for awhile was de facto pronounced “The artist formerly known as Prince.”
Iowa. I think he should hold out for Michigan.
Couldn’t find anything in a quick google search. OTOH, she got married in January, so maybe...
I read an interview with RAS last night. The first three episodes of next season (whenever that is) will be the last three of this season. Can’t remember what comes after that.
I dunno...the Riverdale writers do a lot of WTF stuff, so...
Probably.
The classic Archie Comics masks came from the same place as the Donnie Darko bunny masks that have appeared throughout this season, and the snake masks the Serpents wore when they gave Jughead Hot Dog to take care of in S. 2, and the wolf masks the audience was wearing when Archie auditioned for the Variety Show in…
