It’s too bad that the engineers have to make the CVT’s this way. The whole concept of the CVT is actually amazing, but because people aren’t used to the way the engine behaves with a proper CVT, they have to make it have “stepped gears” so people don’t freak out, thereby negating the point of CVT’s in the first place.

I agree. I’m still torn, though. I would love the extra space of the C-HR (camping and climbing trips) and I actually do like the styling of it. But it just sucks that the market dictates that they castrate the whole concept of a CVT and the whole NO-AWD-THING.
