Since the release of Forza 4, my PS3 has been collecting a lot of dust.
They used to do that on 41 near Terre Haute (IN), but I didn't know that they still used that method today. At one point in high school, our local cops had their speed equipment taken away by the state because they were writing too many tickets for less than 5 mph over the limit. They put two big marks on Main…
I hate it when Matt tricks me into learning something!
It uses GPS, so YMMV depending on what model of iPhone you are using. I tried using it a couple of times, but I didn't find it very helpful. It's reliant on user-submitted data, so it's as dependable as the everyman who is reporting where he saw a speed trap.
I lost a really good portion of my weekend to this event once I happened onto the Bangshift (.com) live streaming coverage. Those "street" cars are pushing over 2,000 HP. One Vette was running an engine that was 822 (I think) cubic inches. Insanity.
Sources? Those hyperlinks in the story will take you to news reports that back up this post (if you click on them).
Off topic, but some of my friends have been drinking Jaeger with a bacon chaser as of late (to the point of bringing crispy bacon with them to the bar). Ever tried it?
You can't really compare an FC to a CJ as far as price.
That was my first idea too. As I feather the throttle (and she shields her ears), I would calmly explain to her that I can't hear her inane ramblings over the awesome sound of a 6 liter Vortec with dual straight pipes.
The drug possession has something to with why they took the guns, I would bet. In Indiana, having a gun while breaking a drug law tends to ratchet up the charges more too.
See - it's all a matter of perspective.
RTFA: "No pricing info has yet been released."
I saw the link to the pic above - quite a pretty car. I was lusting after a very nice silver Z that was sitting for sale out on St. Joe Road just past the Berger Deli earlier this year.
Thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out if it's not too cold next time. I usually wear my Caswell Racing or "Driveshaft through Skull" t-shirts if I go to a car gathering to show some Jalop support... if I remember and they're halfway clean. Look for a grey '81 VW Scirocco S that looks to have seen better…
It's definitely possible. "Computerized table games" is probably a more appropriate nomenclature, but we have a mostly computerized/robotics-enabled casino in Anderson, IN. One Blackjack table uses real cards, but they are under glass with the robotic hands, and there are no chips.
I've never been to either of those shows. How many cars show up for the Liberty Cruisers meet and where do they meet?
I was shocked by the turnout for that show. I met some really nice people there this year and saw some really nice cars. I would take my old car to it... but it's been sitting in storage for too many years to get it out easily now. I daily drive an old VW, but she's far from show quality.
Apparently there are a few of us hanging around here. Sounds like a decent idea to me.
There are a ton of car guys in Auburn, but I haven't seen a lot of car culture in Fort Wayne. I went to the last VW show at Shoaff Park, and it had a nice turnout. I think the Muddy River Run car show was the only other interesting car show I saw this year locally.
