I’ve never understood why someone would buy a Maxima, when for Maxima money you can get an Infiniti with rear-or all-wheel drive and also not a CVT. Assuming said person is some sort of Nissan loyalist (why?).

VW started penny-pinching with the 2018 MY. They dropped things like the under-seat drawer, felt lining in the glove box, and on the S trim no satellite radio. I imagine there’s other things VW cut out too. I’m glad I got mine when I did (‘17 Alltrack S manual).  

VW did zero marketing and also throw in the leaking panoramic sunroof problem that they just couldn’t seem to figure out. I love my Alltrack S 6MT, but I’m glad it’s not an SE/SEL.

One thing it gets wrong - head room is shit. That’s pretty much a Toyota problem in general though.

That would be a huge improvement around here. I’ve never seen so many creepy-ass looking old Chevy/GMC/Ford/Dodge conversion vans selling ice cream as I do in the St. Louis area.

St. Louis Bread Co. priced themselves out of my lunch rotation years ago. It’s a hard no for dinner as well.

Also, the bathroom situation is less than ideal. You can either try the port-a-potties maintained by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources or just crapping in the woods. Given the reputation of Michigan public services, both are equally palatable.
