Same, jumping off things I wasn’t supposed to be jumping off of was one of my favourite activities as a teen. Old rock quarries filled with aqua-coloured water, cliffs next to lakes, etc... Pushing people off the edge just wasn’t done, though.  It’s not like there were lifeguards around.  We were young and stupid, but…

Vice denying they relied on prior salaries is hilarious.  When I used to work there, before I was hired, one of the very first questions they asked me was my previous rate.  I gave them a higher number than I used to get, because duh, but that’s 100% bullshit claim that they don’t use previous salaries for current pay…

My county, once a month, has low cost testing (like $20) for I think 4 STIs. That includes counseling if you end up having a disease. Sometimes not having insurance in some places is cheaper than having insurance.

Why should my insurance cover whatever old man disease you have? I’m 32 and healthy. I don’t need to get medical treatment or take any pills. I mean. Why should I pay for your statins or whatever. You should exercise more or have been born with better genetics. 

Once I called my previous insurance provider to make sure an annual STI test was covered as a part of my yearly gyno check up - it was not! I was annoyed, and the woman on the other end of the line coughed delicately and said that “in [her] day, [she] hadn’t *needed* one”. Fuck her and fuck United health insurance.

Planned Parenthood.  This is literally what they do.

In my early 20's when I was unisured I went to the county health department (in MD) and got tested for free. I don’t know if they still did that, but 20 years ago they did.

I want to feel a bit sorry but I can’t. I am not an especially cruel person, but I survive precariously on disability, which has affected the level of sympathy I can summon up toward the mega rich...especially beautiful young women who will never face a real hurdle in their lives, at least not because the money can’t…
