I’d argue that users will never actually be exposed to any of the offensive groups on Steam unless they actively search them out. If they’re willing to do that, there are plenty of places on the internet to suit their needs. Removing them from Steam is a token gesture that won’t really make any difference.

Your argument is both intellectually dishonest and moving the goal posts. Making an exception for an emergency, especially for a kid, is something I don’t think you’ll find much disagreement with and is most certainly not the central tenet of the article you wrote or the ensuing discussion.

I struggle to balance “he’s a shit person”, with “he’s an employee who has not been convicted of anything.” The second is objectively true, and the first is subjectively true. Why shouldn’t he be allowed to work while the wheels of allegation and investigation and hopefully justice continue to turn?

Dunno why capitalism is to blame, that’s such an abstract notion. At the end of the day there’s real people and things which drive all of this is some complex system (which we are all a part of). While our economic philosophy has a part, it’s probably not the most relevant thing to point out.
