As much as I enjoy Kotaku I don't even both to read the article if it ends up linking to a Valve site (unless that site is Steam, which is typically far less humorous).

I've got to the point in my life and my career that I don't help my family with computer problems anymore. My immediate family is already savvy enough and they don't exploit my knowledge. Except my dad, but he wants to talk about stuff that interests me and furthers his experience. The extended family wants to sit and…
@agreeable_panda: I think the shout out to Gabe as one of four notable FPS devs justifies the singular mention of Half-Life on it's own.
Well it lists my carrier from two years ago and no name. Hrm, yeah I'll have to check this out a bit more.
Not sure about Leon's choice— he doesn't resemble him much and I dunno about him as an actor. Not sure about Sheva either but Rosario Dawson is always nice to see on screen :)
It may be time to pick up Rock Band...
The pants and the 90's jacket ain't doin' it for me. The rest of what is new isn't so bad though.
@oddgit: I wish I made LightWave ;) but I know the guys that do!
Google should keep apps open, but they should have ones that are approved by them officially. Approved apps should meet specific, objective criteria and are subject to being removed from an official standing at any time given the criteria changes.
Love the Clover :) our company, NewTek, has one in the office. The owner (and all the engineers, and well just about everyone else here) love coffee so he splurged and found one about a year ago. Now the percolating coffee well is all but defunct given a much better cup of Joe can come out in about a minute from the…
If only they were using a NewTek TriCaster the show could have easily gone on...
LightWave is very inexpensive for what you get plus NewTek is essentially re-coding the program from scratch. Right now the new vesion, CORE, is in beta but it's pretty damn good for what it is already and can generate a decent render quickly. Couple those renders up with Photoshop and you can get some nice concept…
@Reil: Lifehacker Ninja: We do have these specs. Only that it's the exact same GPU, just the resolution is significantly higher: 960 x 640.

@Edix: Shovelware is rather presumptuous, don't you think? I understand that much of what has been shown already is not original: fitness, sports games and such.
Maybe it's just me but the general reaction to Kinect has looked like either technical enthusiasm from supporters or just nitpicking from detractors.
Touch screen? What kind of touch? Capacitive? Is it multi-touch also?
Can't we all just get along?
I admire Steve Jobs and I admire Bill Gates. They have their faults and Jobs getting himself fired is evidence of that.
@Zombeezee: Production values are more technical in nature. All the production value in the world doesn't mean squat when it comes to the actual quality of a movie that has to be held together with acting and a storyline.
