I stopped using my debit card to pay for 99% of things after these store hacks started being so prevalent. If someone gets access to your debit card number, they can do a lot more damage to your bank account than if they get a credit card number.

This is also just about the first thing I do when I buy a house - replace the 20-year-old, broken, painted-over, worn-out sockets and switches with amazingly inexpensive modern replacements that will actually keep a plug in them.

Outlet covers and light switches are a big one to me.... it’s such a small detail, but the old yellowed plastic (assuming it’s an older home) is just a no go. Nice high quality switches and covers, everywhere in every room. Was the first thing I replaced when I moved in to our home. Hell, throw in an outlet with USB…
