The alternative is to stop talking when you run out of things to say.  But keep spending your time propping up this rotting corpse of a website if you’ve got nothing better to do.
That’s less annoying clickbait than the incessant Tesla articles here.  Was their AI writer so bad they had to get Brownell back for this brand of lazy, tired snark?  You’d think it would be easier to teach a computer to be an asshole, but apparently you still need human “journalists” to write these “articles.”
Hey, we’ve all been told that what someone meant to say to a person isn’t important, only how they felt about it.  So, if Swift *felt* cancelled, who are you to say otherwise?
I would totally send some actual serious money to a Kickstarter campaign to finish Lodge 49. My understanding is the whole plot was mapped out for a four-season arc.
The whole thing now makes sense to this outsider. Â Thank you so much for this!
Zero divided by two is still zero, though.
Unfortunately, we get these excellent articles so rarely. I agree that Jason’s article is classic AV Club high quality.
Yes, that sounds more correct, thank you.  It’s been a while since I left.
At this stage, what’s more likely is that they use GPS for primary navigation, but routing along airways rather than just going GPS “Direct to.” Then you tune your VORs as a backup in case of GPS errors. You can compare the two as a kind of check on each other; if they disagree, you know something is wrong. …
Yep, and they finally got dissolved because they pulled over an Ohio legislator, who dug into the town’s finances. Probably helped that one really corrupt family ran the whole town, but they had something ridiculous like 20 officers for a town of like 200 people.
Pennsylvania’s solution to this, at least for interstates, is that only the Pennsylvania State Police can give tickets on the interstates, and only the PSP can use radar.  At least, that’s how it was when I lived there up until a decade ago.  This means tiny towns don’t benefit from this financially - again, on the…
They knew their generative AI wouldn’t be able to mimic Sean O’Neil, Emily VanDerWerff or other classic AV Club writers.  They trained it based on the absolute hacks that have been here the past several years instead, figuring we wouldn’t be able to discern a drop in quality when it was already so low.  I think they…
You earned that star.
I don’t think the setup works for that, unless Black Friday was a big deal in the 70s.  It feels like it really started in the 80s with the holiday Transformers and Cabbage Patch dolls, but I was born in 1981, so I dunno really.
Yeah, this was apropos for me because my wife and I were just casually looking at them. We have no interest in riding two-up on a two-wheeler, and my wife has no interest in riding her own motorcycle, either. We don’t want something like a Wrangler or Bronco as a daily driver, and aren’t going to spend as much as…
I think they brought it up simply to make clear that buying one doesn’t support the current regime in Russia.
Auto insurance should be paid based on miles driven with a multiplier for one of the measures of vehicle mass. Gas tax would be even better but electric cars don’t use it. I think there’s a Canadian province that does the latter.
I could not care less about him and his inane snark, and I certainly don’t care about his cause du jour.
Out of all that, I’d focus on Succession and Andor. Â
